Sharing the video and the tabs in this blog post!
So... I'm finally making a post in this blog! I created this site some time ago, but never actually got to post in here. This is going to be short (but hopefully useful!).
“A while ago, I bought a #kalimba online, after seeing countless ads. It seemed like a nice instrument, and one that I could get to learn on my own. .”
I wanted to say that I did some research before buying this instrument, but truth is, one day I simply clicked "Buy" on of those ads.
I plan to make a post showing all the contents of the box that came with this kalimba. I would say that I am very satisfied with my kalimba so far.
Kalimba tabs and video - Misty Mountains Cold from The Hobbit
One of the first songs that I decided to learn was Misty Mountains Cold. I already played it on the violin and I thought this one could sound good on the kalimba. Another thing is that this song does not have accidentals - that's important when you're using a diatonic kalimba. If you want to follow my tabs to play "Misty Mountains Cold" from The Hobbit, you should have your kalimba tuned to C (standard tuning for this model of kalimba) and either glue these numbers on the tines of your kalimba or memorize them, you choose. On the first photo of this post you can see the numbers glued on my kalimba. So, without further ado, here are the tabs and the video. I hope they are helpful to you somehow! If you would like to see more kalimba tabs on my blog, please let me know in the comments!

Tabs:
Here I share the tabs. Where I wrote the numbers together, for example, "6-1-3", they are meant to be played at the same time, or with a little slide (like a chord). Where I wrote the numbers with a little dot by the side, please play the higher octave version of that note (on the kalimba, these are noted with a dot above the number, but it was easier for me to write the dot by the side).
Well, please let me know in the comments if you have some questions or suggestions for future posts or songs. See you on the next post!
Xoxo, Isabelle
